ใครที่เคยใช้ Google Assistant รุ่นเดิมจะรู้ว่า การใช้งานจริงยังไม่ค่อยลื่นไหลเท่าที่ควร จะสั่งการใช้งานแต่ละครั้ง จะต้องเรียก “Ok Google” เพื่อให้ Google Assistant เริ่มทำงาน และบางครั้งการใช้เสียงที่เบาเกินไป หรืออยู่ในสถานที่ที่มีเสียงรบกวนมากๆ Google Assistant จะไม่ยอมตอบสนองการเรียกใช้โดยง่าย
แต่ล่าสุด ในงาน Google I/O มีสิ่งหนึ่งที่แฟนแอนดรอยด์ต่างว้าว นั่นก็คือ Google Assistant รุ่นใหม่ ที่ถูกพัฒนาให้ฉลาดมากขึ้นกว่ารุ่นเก่ามาก ถูกเคลมว่าทำงานได้เร็วขึ้นถึง 10 เท่า สามารถสั่งงานด้วยเสียงให้สลับแอปฯ โดยไม่ต้องพูด “Ok Google” ทุกครั้ง สามารถส่งให้ตอบกลับอีเมล์ หารูปภาพและส่งข้อความได้ทันที ทั้งหมดนี้แต่ละขั้นตอนของการส่งงานแทบต้องใช้นิ้วสัมผัสจอเลยก็ว่าได้
โดย Google Assistant รุ่นใหม่ จะเริ่มทยอยเปิดให้ใช้งานช่วงเดือนตุลาคมของปีนี้ สำหรับสมาร์ทโฟนรุ่นแรกที่จะได้ใช้คือ Pixel 4 ส่วนสมาร์ทโฟนค่ายอื่นๆ ก็รอต่อไป
